Second book coming soon

This blog has been silent for over a year while I’ve been working on a different look into Fresno’s history.

Research behind the second book took me to many enjoyable places in the County’s history. And down a few rabbit holes! In the process I discovered a woman who was a magnificent storyteller. Though well-known a century ago, Ernestine Winchell fell into obscurity along with her first-hand accounts of the people who shaped Fresno County, many of them women. The fun for me is discovering these women and sharing their stories with you.

Ernestine Winchell and the Pioneer Women of Fresno County, California resurrects their forgotten stories. Ernestine Miller Winchell’s depictions showcase the trials, triumphs, and interracial relationships of this era. This is an opportunity to explore the indomitable spirit of these women, their societal contributions, and the enduring impact they left on Fresno County.
